McDonald's Is Confused

What on earth is going on with McDonald’s?

You haven’t heard? They’re selling thai food! That’s ridiculous! They’re also selling wraps? At McDonalds? Yes! And - there’s a McCafe - for coffee!

And healthy apple slices!

Ok, that’s enough! Something has gone horribly wrong!

Restaurants specialize and become known for their specific product. At McDonald’s it’s hamburgers!

Like, if you want a great steak you to go The Keg, you don’t go to Harvey’s. If you chicken you go to Swiss Chalet, not Red Lobster. And if you want a coffee you go to Tim Hortons. That’s how it works. That’s how it’s always worked.

If you want a Beamer you don’t go to a used car lot.

If you want to buy a bicycle - now listen to me because I’m an expert - go a bike specialist like Bikeland. You don’t buy a buy at Canadian Tire - ever.

If you want to buy trendy clothes (ok, we’re getting personal, here) you go to Pinstripe or Le Chateau. You don’t go to Winners.

And - if you want a hamburger? You go to McDonalds. So what is this deal with thai food, wraps, apples and the McCafe? Are they confused?

Ray Kroc must be rolling in his grave!

  1. Perhaps McDonald's is in the food business, not the hamburger business.

Amtrak thought they were in the train business, not the transportation business, and they have suffered for their tunnel vision.

The mission stays the same (provide people with good tasting, fast, affordable food) but the vehicle has changed.
