They won the CBC reality show "Cover Me Canada" - Whosarmy. Cover Me Canada is a fresh, creative show, featuring relatively unknown Canada bands, that compete for a $100,000 prize with Universal Records. I like the concept. I've always been a fan of young bands, with a vision, who work hard - and have talent. I guess that's why, in a previous life, I managed and booked three young cover bands. But that was a long time ago.
The Friday night show was part of the weekend annual Cannington Dog Sled Races.
It was awesome to hear a combination of well known Canadian songs which they performed on CBC, original songs they are currently recording, and songs from their 2011 cd release. With the right people behind them, Whosarmy could be major Canadian rock stars.
